Sooty Shearwater  6 from ferry back
Whooper Swan still 2 on west lake
Eider  female with 2 young, and female with 3 young in harbour
Peregrine 1 in east
Pheasant pair in Anton's east garden calling to a chick
Corncrake  4 singing west town
Dunlin  7 at west lake
Little Tern  6+
Song Thrush  resident bird in Anton's east garden suspected breeding (1st Tory record?)

Anton's Photos 2013/ 2014

It took a while to sort through the 1000+ photos Anton had on his camera card. Some good birds include the first Ring Ouzel in a long time. The islands first records of White winged Black Tern and Glossy Ibis and one that got away a dark Kumlien's or possibly even a Thayer's Gull but there was only one photo and it does not appear to be conclusive..

200 adult Kittiwake roosting on Lake
1 Great Northern Diver in flight over island

6 Hooded Crow (one seen taking Lapwing chick)
2 sedge Warbler
2 reed Bunting males.

1 Hwk Moth species landed briefly on boat
1 Oystercatcher flying towards mainland

Marsh Orchid. Many reported on the island.

Gerard was on Tory with me last week and managed to get some fine shots of Grace's Corncrake

Grace was kind enough to send me photos who have taken up residence in the field beside her house.
I visited Tory yesterday. Very quiet except for some calling Corncrakes.
